The South Shore Kennel Club (SSKC) annually presents two All Breed
Championship Shows and two All Breed Licensed
Obedience Trials. These are currently held at the Lunenburg War Memorial Arena, in the historic town of Lunenburg, on the
first weekend in June.
The club holds obedience classes for the public, usually in May–June, outdoors at a Bridgewater venue. These classes,
very popular and well received by local canine owners, are taught by SSKC members with years of obedience training and experience.
The SSKC holds monthly meetings (with the exception of July, August, and December) on the fourth Monday of the month.
SSKC members treat themselves to a summer picnic, which provides a pleasant and informal opportunity for both owners and
dogs to socialize and have fun outdoors. Plaques honouring Show and Trial achievements during the past season are presented
to the proud winners. There is also a winter “bash” at which members and guests meet and sponsor an auction, the proceeds of
which go into the club’s trophy fund. Both of these events are well known for their super quality and abundance of delicious food.
These get-togethers are eagerly looked forward to by all club members.
